Ok... here is how it all got started. One day back in 1993 while sitting in my study hall class (which just happened to be the area of the auto-repair class where the written tests were taken) , I was sitting there watching the movie BULLITT (here is an great unofficial page about this awesome movie) since it was study hall and I had finished all my work. I remember looking up at a poster the teacher had hanging in the classroom that had a picture of every Mustang ever built to date. It grabbed my attention so much that I became enamored with this poster and would study it almost every day after that. I remember sitting there thinking to myself, "Someday I will own a Mustang of my own". I thought a few of the models and years were kind of ugly (especially the ones that looked like Datsuns) and some just didn't look enough like the originals for my taste.

Fast forward a couple of years...

The church I was attending about the time I started driving was a small one with few people that attended on a regular basis. The pastor's son was a member of the youth group I hung out with, but since he and all the other "cool kids" were a bit older than me, I never got in good enough with him to be good buddies. He bought a classic '65 or '66 (can't remember now) bright red mustang, in almost mint condition. I never got to ride in it, but I was in love with it the minute I saw it. Unfortunately, he got rid of it in lieu of a '95 purple S-10 for some reason...

A couple of years after that...

My sister started dating a guy from the local retail store we all worked at that owned a black '66 Mustang. It was a work in progress, but I wanted it for my own since the first time he pulled in the driveway to see my sister. Little did I know that he and his brother were both Mustang fans and both owned a few over the years. The one time I got to ride in it with my future brother-in-law I was blown away by how cool I felt just by partaking in the luster of being seen in a 'stang. The years have past and that Black Mustang is long gone - sold to someone who had the extra time and money to restore it I presume.

Around that same time...

My next door neighbor and long-time family friend bought a mid-to-late 80's Mustang and I got to ride in it for a while back and forth to school. He wrecked it one day that I didn't ride with him along a stretch of road that had no speed limits and it was never the same again. He got rid of it shortly after.

Present day glee...

I can't say that I ever followed the Mustang line very closely because I did not think my dream of owning one would ever come true. I have driven some crappy cars in my time, and some that were great but not quite the car I always wanted. I never was particularly fond of the body style of some of the newer Mustangs (1994-2004), but I would have been proud to have one no matter the style. I would give my eye-teeth to own a 2005+ because they are really reminescent of the originals in my opinion. Now, after not-so-secretly desiring to have a Mustang for 13+ years, I finally have my own. If you are still with me so far,

Verse of the moment :

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
